D-Day.
Derek deploys tomorrow for 7 months to Afghanistan. I am utterly heartbroken, but I know we will do just fine. We had pre-deployment leave in Texas, and his parents have been here since Friday. He has to be on base tomorrow at 7:30 in the morning :( Although it sucks ASS that he is leaving so early, it will give me a whole day to get all of my crying out and try to adjust a little. I can't even imagine how puffy my eyes are going to be when I go into work Wednesday. I'm definitely going to be hitting up some sedatives the next week or so because it is completely impossible for me to get any rest when he isn't sleeping beside me. It makes me tear up just writing this. I have been totally MIA the past months, but with him leaving I think it will be good therapy for me to keep a blog while he is gone. So here's to a 7 month deployment. Screw you deployment number 2!!

One week and 3 days!!
I can't believe I'm getting married. It's the craziest thing. I was set at one point in my life to never be married and be the happy single free-spirited woman. Well 2 months after I said that to my dad, I met Derek and it's been history ever since :)
As for what's been going on in my world lately...not much. Just been trying to get that wedding "body" and also the beach body!! I love living by the beach! North Carolina truly is pretty in the springtime. I celebrated by planting some tulips and some other flower lol. Time to get ready for work! Updates to come!

Early morning!
Derek went to work about an hour ago and I couldn't fall back asleep so here I am! Whitley and I are going walking at 8 and then I am heading up to the good ole tanning salon and then to get ready for work. I have decided that in order to get more tone I need to keep constantly changing up my workouts, so this weekend I am getting some dumbells and a workout video or two and am going to hit this working out business harder than ever because Wimberley has to look sexy in her wedding dress! Derek and I are going to the gym Sunday and then going walking on the beach on base! I love working out with him because he really challenges me. Too bad our work schedules suck so we really can't go together besides on the weekends, so I have to find other ways to work out during the week.
It's really ridiculous how PMS really can make you go from skinny to fat in a matter of hours. I seriously feel myself bloat up throughout the day. In the morning my stomach looks great and then in the evening I look pregnant! Ahhh! I hate it! Lol!
So the food forecast for today looks good. I am not craving anything bad. Yesterday I wasn't very good. I had a lot of those Hot Tamales candies that a lady at work gave me, 2 fun size Reese's PB cups, and when I got home I ate an oversized piece of pizza. For breakfast I had Activia, between breakfast and lunch I had a sausage egg and biscuit sandwich minus one of the two slices of biscuit and I took off the cheese. For lunch I had a turkey sandwich with wheat bread, mustard, and a small bit of low-fat mayo, snack I had my fiber cookie thingy, yogurt, dinner was lean cuisine 5-cheese lasagna and sugar free pudding! Drank lots of water yesterday and walked 1 hour and 20 minutes in the AM, 13 minutes during a break and then 45 minutes during lunch which was about 10 laps or so.

Day 2 of trying to stay with this!
Today was great. I walked with my friend this morning from 9-10:30 then I got ready for work, went by Starbucks and got a tall nonfat/no whip white mocha and went to work from 11:30-8:30. During my first break I walked 3 laps around the building which is about .64 of a mile. During lunch I walked 10 laps so thats like..2.2 miles. Total I walked at work 2.86 miles! In addition to this morning so that is a lot. I am also about to do some push ups and crunches. For breakfast I had some Activia yogurt. Lunch was a whole wheat bread sanwich, turkey meat, and mustard with a pickle slice. For my first snack I had some Activia and some little fiber graham crackers. Dinner I had a lean cuisine 5-cheese lasagna and a thing of sugar-free yogurt. I am working on finishing drinking my 8 glasses of water a day, it is just so hard to do that when the tap water out here tastes like crap--with or without a Brita filter!! :(

I knew this would happen!!!
Every time I have started a blog, I always ended up straying. Well here I am and I vow to not stray...again! I may not post every single day, but dammit I have to do this. Its just that with having graduated, packed up, moved to NC, found a decent job, and planning an out-of-town wedding all while trying to eat healthy and get looking my best ever so I'll be glowing at my wedding....it's super hard to keep up with family and friends let alone a blog!
Since my last blog I have obtained a job at Convergys here in Jacksonville, said goodbye to working part time at minimum wage and said hello to working 40 hours a week making $10.91 an hour! It's great. I plan on once we move to California either becoming a teacher/coach or doing personal training. As of today Derek and I get married in 2 months and about 2 weeks! It's CRAZY!!!!
It is definitely hard to stay get into better shape while working 40 hours a week. I supplement sitting on my butt all day at work with healthy snacks and I walk during my breaks!
I plan on weighing myself this weekend when Derek and I hit the gym so I can see where I am at (although I'll be pms'ing like a mofo) and I also want to get a pedometer to be able to see where exactly I am. I ALSO need to get back to using my heart rate monitor! With two months and some change left until the big day I have no room for error!!!

Getting back on track...slowly...
Funny how winter really does mean hibernation. It gets so cold and bitter outside that the thought of going for a run in the park almost sounds like torture. Just as I was getting better at running and actually liking it, it gets cold!! And also with this weather, comes the laziness and desire to just lay around all day and sleep. Eat. Sleep some more. Wake up. Eat dinner. Watch TV. Go to bed. I know it's the weather that is doing this to me because I am sooo not the type to sit around on my butt all day, but lately that's all I want to do. Yesterday was a beautiful day and felt great outside and what do you know? I got a lot accomplished in that day. I have been walking Buddi twice a day, doing LOTS of crunches, going walking in the park, and I went to the gym today and got in a GREAT arm workout. Tomorrow I plan on going to the park in the AM and then doing some strength training tomorrow after I get off if I'm not starving.
So onto more exciting news...in my opinion...I have a game plan for my drive to Jacksonville. I don't remember if I already put it on here. I plan on waking up at the buttcrack of dawn and driving all day until I reach Conyers, Georgia. It's about 30 minutes outside of Atlanta (east of Atlanta, so closer to my destination). I think leaving early will make it easier to say goodbye...everyone will be asleep so it will be a quick goodbye. I know I'll probably cry off and on after that, but with just getting the initial "breaking away" done I believe the quicker, the easier. This will definitely be the hardest thing I have had to do in my life...I hate that being with Derek means taking me halfway across the country from my family. That's life in the military I guess. I have good friends who will help me get used to it and I have Derek of course who is always there for me.
This will be Derek's and my first Christmas living together...I don't really know what to get him, but I want it to be good. I think I'll wait to buy his gift until after I get there. I think I wanna get us a little mini tree to put in the living room. I'm getting there like 4 days before Christmas day so I think it is a waste to buy a tree...and we can't afford a fake one right now. I want to do some sort of decorating for Christmas though!
Anywho...So my blog posts aren't the most intellectual, but they are about what's going on in my life, and that's sufficient, right? So now I'm off to research prices of mini Christmas trees! Joy!

One week!
A week from this very moment I will have been driving for about 13 hours headed to North Carolina and will probably be stopped at my hotel for the night. A lot has been going on since I graduated the 5th. Crazy, crazy past week! The good thing about it is all the intense wedding planning is done, my dress is getting altered, measurements of the tables are done for the reception, we have the place for the rehearsal dinner, and know what we want for food, drinks, and flowers. I am so stoked! The crappy part about the week being over is that my parents went to Cabo yesterday until the 18th and I leave the 19th :(. I have a TON of sorting and packing I need to get started on, but just looking at my mound of stuff makes me frustrated. It sucks. I feel like the weather has been making me lack motivation lately. I have been exercising, just not intensely as I usually do. I neeeed to get a good all over strength training work out done because I haven't felt my muscles be sore in about a week. Lame. Hopefully this next week I will feel the boost I needed.
I start my new job the 21st! I can't wait! It's going to be so weird just working and not juggling it with school. I am definitely not sad about that part.
So nutritionally speaking for today, it went alright...not great not bad.
I walked Buddi twice at about 20 minutes each walk.
Breakfast- 2 pieces whole wheat toast with one light Laughing Cow cheese and some strawberry rhubarb. Drank water
Lunch- half order of cheese pizza at work. It was healthy pizza. I work at a gym.
Snack- I had about 6 or 7 mini cream puff balls...bad I know, but hey they were good lol.
One slice of whole wheat bread with some homemade chicken salad on top, ate about a handful of crumbs from the Baked Lays.
Dinner- about 5 oz breaded chicken with gravy/sauce. Left over's from Thursday night. Great stuff.
Been drinking quite a bit of water today. Drinking Jasmine tea...and that's bout it!
Crunches and push ups tonight for sure!!!
Oh and at work I did 4 sets of lunges- up and down the basketball court. Woot!
*PS- Derek is no longer going to Afghanistan :)* I am sooooooo happy! We finally get to start our lives TOGETHER in 8 days!!!! I can't believe it!
